Students and teachers at Missoula Public Schools welcomed Superintendent of Public Instruction Denise Juneau on Friday, March 19, 2010. Juneau visited with students, faculty and staff about innovative learning programs in Missoula and attended a Native foods luncheon and ceremonial performance. Juneau also spoke with the students at Big Sky High School about the importance of being good students and good citizens. One of the first things people bring up when talking about the worlds cultures is food. Italian, Asian, whatever it may be, everyone loves food. This celebration was a way for Missoula public schools to bring learning into the lunchroom and use food as a starting point to explore aspects of different cultures. Juneau is pictured here at Russell Elementary School in Missoula.
