Nancy Keenan, former Montana Superintendent of Public Instruction, endorsed Denise Juneau in her bid to become the state’s top educational leader. Keenan served as Montana’s Superintendent from 1988 until she was term limited in 2000.
“Denise will be a dynamic leader for our state’s public schools,” Keenan said. “She will work tirelessly to ensure Montana’s students are provided the best education in schools large and small.
"Denise understands the importance of providing our children with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in this ever-changing world,” continued Keenan. “I firmly believe that Denise is the right person at the right time to lead Montana’s education system.”
When Keenan served as the State Superintendent, she tapped Juneau to lead the Indian Education Department. “Denise came to the office, from the classroom, with rich experience working with diverse groups of students, administrators and teachers,” said Keenan. “Her skills working with educational leaders at the OPI and across Montana are exceptional.”
“Denise Juneau is my choice for Superintendent of Public Instruction because she is a graduate of Montana’s K-12 public schools and University System,” said Keenan. “Her experience as a classroom teacher combined with her administrative experience and the leadership qualities she will bring to the job of Superintendent makes Denise my choice to lead Montana’s public school system.”
